The fifth edition of the event organised by Re Soil Foundation will take place on 5 November in Rimini, as part of Ecomondo. Discussions will focus on new soil protection policies, urban soil restoration and solutions to make agri-food systems more sustainable<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The soil on which we build our cities is the same resource on which the production of the food we eat depends. Two seemingly distant worlds,<\/strong> connected by a fundamental resource that is coming under increasing pressure. In Italy alone, almost 84 square kilometres of land were converted into new artificial surfaces in 2024, according to the latest ISPRA report<\/a> on land take. This represents a 16% increase compared with the previous year, equivalent to approximately 2.7 square metres every second. Globally, the picture is no less concerning: according to an FAO estimate, around one-third of the world’s soils are moderately or severely degraded due to processes such as erosion, salinisation, compaction<\/a> and contamination<\/a>.<\/p>\n
