This event promises to explore a key topic such as the <strong>plant-soil-microbiome<\/strong> relationship in a scenario of climate change and anthropogenic interference through a special perspective: agricultural chemistry.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted at the DAMSlab Auditorium of the University of Bologna, the four-day scientific event is meant for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-stage researchers.<\/p>\n<div class='avia-iframe-wrap'>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"MXzZWLSA4i\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/drought-threatening-agriculture-europe\/\">Drought is once again a major threat to European agriculture<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Drought is once again a major threat to European agriculture&#8221; &#8212; Re Soil Foundation\" src=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/drought-threatening-agriculture-europe\/embed\/#?secret=dDYseGsv1o#?secret=MXzZWLSA4i\" data-secret=\"MXzZWLSA4i\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h5>Sustainable solutions from agricultural chemistry<\/h5>\n<p>The combined presence of climatic and anthropogenic stress, together with the need to ensure food security for a growing population, highlights the importance of a comprehensive approach to the problem with clear agronomic and environmental implications. Faced with <strong>the increasing frequency of extreme events<\/strong>\u2014such as heavy rains, which cause landslides and <a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/investigation\/multiple-impact-floods-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">floods<\/a>, and prolonged droughts\u2014it is therefore necessary to promote soil resilience and resistance.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In this regard, the organizers emphasize how \u201c<strong>agricultural chemistry plays a pivotal role<\/strong> by facilitating the identification of management strategies for the soil-plant-microbiome system.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>These strategies, they continue, \u201care to be aligned with prevailing policies that are oriented towards environmental sustainability and the promotion of a circular economy.\u201d Strategies include practices such as the use of <a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/bioeconomia-circolare\/fertilizzanti-organici-rifiuti-risultati\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">organic fertilizers<\/a>, biostimulants, nanofertilizers, growth-promoting microorganisms, and &#8220;<strong>biodegradable bioplastic as alternatives to <a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/agricultural-industry\/polyethylene-mulches-negative-effect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">conventional plastics<\/a><\/strong> .&#8221; The expected result is the maintenance or improvement of soil fertility and quality, which is reflected in increased plant growth and enhanced nutritional value.<\/p>\n<div class='avia-iframe-wrap'>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"jHrXvgexTs\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/climate-microbes-impact-research\/\">Here is how we can predict the impact of climate on soil microbes<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Here is how we can predict the impact of climate on soil microbes&#8221; &#8212; Re Soil Foundation\" src=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/climate-microbes-impact-research\/embed\/#?secret=jRZVhUU5wP#?secret=jHrXvgexTs\" data-secret=\"jHrXvgexTs\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h5>The program<\/h5>\n<p>Organized by the <strong>Italian Society of Agricultural Chemistry (SICA)<\/strong> and the Department of Agricultural and Food Sciences of Alma Mater Studiorum &#8211; <strong>University of Bologna<\/strong>, the February 2026 edition of the Winter School will address these issues while promoting the importance of research in the field of agricultural chemistry among young scientists on the international community. M<strong>ain objective of the School<\/strong> is to provide an opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>facilitate the exchange and extension of understanding of the theoretical, conceptual, and applicative aspects of soil ecology, plant, and environmental sciences;<\/li>\n<li>provide insights into novel methodological and analytical approaches while building research networks;<\/li>\n<li>consolidate scientific communication skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program includes a series of activities, including conferences, seminars, and workshops, as well as presentations by participants.
