But also to develop a tailor-made business model dedicated to them that can be declined according to the different types of land use: namely agriculture, forestry, post-industrial and peri-urban areas. These are the main objectives of two reports released in December as part of Prepsoil, the <a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/environment\/soil-knowledge-survey-prepsoil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">project<\/a>, launched in 2022 and funded by the <strong>Horizon Europe<\/strong> program, that involves several partners, including <strong>Re Soil Foundation<\/strong>, in activities to raise awareness and disseminate the goals of the EU Mission <a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/mission-soil-research-projects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A Soil Deal for Europe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class='avia-iframe-wrap'>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"RMwhJY3bUR\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/soil-knowledge-survey-prepsoil\/\">Prepsoil survey reveals knowledge of soil health among stakeholders<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Prepsoil survey reveals knowledge of soil health among stakeholders&#8221; &#8212; Re Soil Foundation\" src=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/soil-knowledge-survey-prepsoil\/embed\/#?secret=BJw4wF4GEr#?secret=RMwhJY3bUR\" data-secret=\"RMwhJY3bUR\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h5>Identifying and classifying innovator subjects<\/h5>\n<p>The Prepsoil report on \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/zenodo.org\/records\/13255005\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Living Labs and Lighthouses taxonomy, identification and mapping<\/a>\u201d introduces tools to classify, guide and empower these innovator subjects by fostering \u201cimproved collaboration and knowledge exchange.\u201d Three resources provided by the study:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Taxonomy and User Guide<\/strong> to guide soil health initiatives by facilitating the exchange of best practices with the support of a user guide. An <a href=\"https:\/\/prepsoil.eu\/prepsoil-living-lab-taxonomy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interactive version<\/a> of the taxonomy is available on the Prepsoil website.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Classification of Living Labs and Lighthouses<\/strong>, which, according to the criteria adopted, are divided between actors \u201cfully aligned with the Mission Soil Implementation Plan and criteria,\u201d or \u201cemerging\u201d actors who are working to meet all the criteria. The ranking will be part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/prepsoil.eu\/living-labs-and-lighthouses\/map\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online Atlas<\/a> of Soil Health Initiatives in Europe.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assessment Module<\/strong> to be launched in early 2025 to help the actors themselves assess their alignment with the European Mission criteria.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class='avia-iframe-wrap'>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"bHi7z3pdUe\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/prepsoil-financing-lighthouse-living-labs\/\">Prepsoil announces a webinar on smart financing for Living Labs and Lighthouses<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; visibility: hidden;\" title=\"&#8220;Prepsoil announces a webinar on smart financing for Living Labs and Lighthouses&#8221; &#8212; Re Soil Foundation\" src=\"https:\/\/resoilfoundation.org\/en\/articles\/prepsoil-financing-lighthouse-living-labs\/embed\/#?secret=Muj3sE5IyO#?secret=bHi7z3pdUe\" data-secret=\"bHi7z3pdUe\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<h5>A business plan<\/h5>\n<p>The &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/zenodo.org\/records\/12919420\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Report on Living Labs and Lighthouses Model Business Plans<\/a>\u201d provides a detailed overview of a business model for innovative subjects according to different land use. Again: agriculture, forestry, post-industrial and peri-urban areas. The model is designed to plan for the growth, expansion and stability of the subjects themselves by identifying:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The <strong>Mission goals<\/strong> to be pursued.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>specific type of land use<\/strong> the subjects are targeting;<\/li>\n<li><strong>14 different key aspects<\/strong> (problems, areas of focus, solutions etc.).<\/li>\n<li><strong>41 spheres of intervention<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This Business Model aims to improve the performance and grow the maturity of these initiatives by fostering their economic resilience following initial EU funding. This goal implies the ability to attract diverse sources of funding by involving a wide range of stakeholders and following <a href=\"https:\/\/prepsoil.eu\/news\/prepsoil-report-designing-business-models-soil-living-labs-lighthouses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">several recommendations<\/a>. Today, in fact, the lack of knowledge and awareness of the problem continues to be one of the main critical factors.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For this reason, the approach based on <strong>raising awareness and spreading knowledge<\/strong> is considered to be a crucial for the success of the Mission.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>For this very reason, those involved in the initiative intend to work to provide assessments and efforts to <strong>improve the knowledge base<\/strong> by working together with innovation centers in the area. By reaching, over time, an ever-widening audience that includes universities, citizens, students, teachers, land monitoring agencies and civil society as a
